Meditation

There are three fundamental mediative techniques.

  1. Tranquility Meditation: In these practices we learn to stabilize our distracted mind. We drop into our natural awareness and begin to see the workings of our mind.
  2. Insight Meditation: In these practices, with the awareness of a tranquil mind, we can begin to directly experience the freedom found in letting go of conflicting emotions and discursive thoughts.
  3. Loving Kindness Meditation: In these practices, we recognize and cultivate our natural capacity for kindness, compassion, joy and equanimity. We feel these qualities when they are present and recognize when they are not present.
